Rubber City Roller Girls
Roller Derby is here!!! I am very pleased to announce that the first bout of the Rubber City Roller Girls will be on March 10 at the John S. Knight Center. Doors open at 5:00pm and the 1st bout will start at 6:00pm. Tickets in advance are $9.00 and at the door are $13.00. John S. Knight Center 77 E. Richard BinkleyWow!! That could quite possibly have been the funnest night I've ever had (with my clothes on). A super value ($9/13 for 3.5(ish!!) hours of fun) and a totally accessible roster of real people (you can sit right next to the track for high fives (and skates to the face)), makes the roller derby a tremendous good time! My last experience with the derby was watching it on cable down at my brother's house waaaay back in the mid-80's. It was somewhat surprising, then, that I was pretty much an insta-groupie (and had the rest of the dates on the calendar by halftime of the first match). I also already have my favorite(s), and Don, it looks like we're good to go in Thunderdome next time (speaking of which, don't let me forget my Sharpie). The after-party was super-entertaiChecked-in
ning, and I'm happy to report that there was only one party foul (not mine). All in all, I'm glad that I didn't cancel (I would have if I saw my friends status update before I left). See ya on April 14th!! Woooo!!!
