Bread and Butter, Las Vegas (map)

For those of you that aren't Polish or from the Midwest... let me school you on a tradition back in my home state of Michigan. Fat Tuesday, or what Michiganders call Paczki (pronounced ponch-key) Day, is a day reserved for eating small sugary balls of goodness. Yes they look like doughnuts but they are so much more than that. The real stuff is made out of crap that you really can only eat once a year... hence Fat Tuesday is only once a year!
I've been craving these stupid things every spring since I've moved out here. Finally a local bake shop called Bread & Butter opened. It just so happens that Chris Herrin, the founder and chef of Bread & Butter, is from Michigan! Yay!
So I'm going to head out there before my workday begins to grab a couple (for my family of course) but feel free to head over whenever time you're available.

Right?!? My boyfriend said that they have some at the Polish Deli in Summerlin but I don't know if they baked them in house.
My family celebrates a Pennsylvania Dutch tradition called "Granny Faschnaut Day" where we eating sugary donut-type food. I bet it's the same or similar thing. No one out here has ever heard of it either. Lol
People here look at me like I'm crazy when I try to explain this! It was such a big deal back home!
