Our Meetup Guidelines
The majority of events you attend are not hosted by an organizer but by your fellow Meetup members. To keep the experience of our meetups positive for everyone, please keep in mind a few simple guidelines. For Meetup AttendeesRSVPs
- If you have RSVP'd "yes", please change your RSVP to "no" if you can't make an event.
Please be considerate and change your RSVP if you can’t attend an event. This is especially critical if there is a waiting list. Event hosts will provide contact information so if something changes with your plans, please contact the event host directly if you can’t get to the website. PLEASE NOTE: The Organizer has the right to remove you from the group if you have an excessive number of "no shows".

- To schedule an event select "+ SCHEDULE A NEW MEETUP" from the "Home" screen. Follow the prompts and enter the information for your meetup.
Due to the limitations of the Meetup website, when posting an event include your name as the event host in the description. When possible, an organizer will attempt to assign you as an “Event Host”. Allow time for this to occur. You will not be able to edit the meetup until you are assigned the host. Event Hosts can edit the event's details, manage the RSVP list, and generally act as the "Organizer" for that specific event.
Contact an organizer if you need help applying any additional features to your event such as limiting the number of people who can RSVP or closing RSVPs by a certain date/time. These come in handy if you have a smaller venue or need to collect a payment.Types of Meetups
– We encourage a wide variety of activities to be posted. Examples are dinners, movies, shows, happy hours, and many others too numerous to list here.
Our group is a fun, low-key, social group and to keep it that way, there are only a few types of meetups that aren’t allowed.Types of Meetups not allowed
- Members are not allowed to post events in which they have a personal or professional gain (private or not-for-profit) if people attend.
– Members are not allowed to post events in which they are a participant in the event (i.e. sporting event, music performance). Members who post events must be available to be a host for the attending members. It is permissible to host an event if it’s a group activity where everyone participates (i.e. skiing, bowling…).
• Joint Meetups
– If you post an event in our group, please don’t post the same event in another Meetup group or have a member in another group post the same event in that group. Our members have joined this Meetup to hang out with other 30/40 “somethings” which is defeated if meetups are planned with other groups who do not have the same membership criteria.
• Any event that is illegal
or offensive isn’t allowed.
