Camping at Little Qualicum Falls Park, 2 or 3 nights

  • June 28, 2013 · 7:00 PM

"A beautiful park and well worth visiting a few times. "

Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park straddles the scenic Little Qualicum River, west of Parksville, where impressive waterfalls cascade and plummet down a rocky gorge in a beautiful forest setting. Perhaps the most magnificent park on Vancouver Island, Little Qualicum Falls incorporates the entire southern shore of Cameron Lake, adjacent to MacMillan Provincial Park and the awesome Cathedral Grove Rainforest. Cameron Lake is bordered by steep mountains: Mt. Wesley to the north and Mt. Arrowsmith to the south.

Highlights:

Tent camping among giant redwood and western red cedars
Pretty waterfall cascade
Easy to moderate hiking in the forest
Swimming in the river, or the lake nearby.
Mini concert by campfire at night (if fire is allowed then)
Making new friends!

Activities:
hiking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, swimming... New ideas welcomed!

Schedule:
The camp site is booked for 3 nights, from Friday to Monday. You may choose to arrive Friday night or Saturday morning.
We'll leave the park Monday at noon. Option is to have lunch at Coombs. We will be able to arrive at Victoria later in the afternoon, so you can see the fireworks at night. :)

Limit of group:
4 adults and 4 minor (under 16), Totally 8 people. This is the limit of one camp site.

The park receives very positive reviews from TripAdvisor.ca:

Hi there! I am not sure yet if I will be available that weekend.
I will know about my schedule at the end of this week, so I hope to have a gap to go there

I'll bring my 15-year-old niece, will drive my Honda CRV, there will be 2 more seats available. We have a small tent but there is no room to share with more people.
