Meeting Point Update: Let's plan to meet at the corner of King Street and Royal Street (which is just at the corner of the Market Square in Old Town, Alexandria). We'll have the chance to say our hellos and introductions. Then about 7:20pm we can move a bit closer to watch the celebrations. Cell phone # will be provided on Friday via email by 3pm. Looking forward to it!
The Holiday Season in Old Town Alexandria is amazing. I went to this last year and it was a blast. Let's get together and join the festivities. Feel free to bring a friend. The more the merrier!
"Celebrate the Holiday season at this annual event with the lighting of the City tree, a holiday performance by The Metropolitan Fine Arts Center, and greetings from the Mayor and Santa. Everyone is invited to participate in caroling and a sing along following the lighting of the City tree. Historic Market Square in Old Town, 301 King Street. Friday, November 23, 2012, 7-9 p.m. Rain or shine. "
Afterwards, let's go to O'Connells located at 112 King Street, just two blocks away. In the event that we get scattered or something, the plan will be to meet on the 2nd floor of O'Connells at the Sullivan's Bar area upstairs. You can always ask the host when you first come in to point you in the right direction.
Closest Metro: King Street on Blue/Yellow lines. From there you can either walk, take a quick cab ride or catch free Alexandria Shuttle down to the Market Square.
If you're coming later, no problem. I will update in comments section where we are located.
