*** It's a great day for happy hour! See you tonight! ***
UPDATE #3: Drink specials are $4 Corona Lights, $5 30s & 40s Superstar drinks, and $6 house wine until 8pm!
UPDATE #2: Per my email, I need volunteers to help sign people in with name tags and to meet / greet folks! This is a great way to meet people, and help kick start a friendly vibe to the event. I need volunteers to fill 30 minute slots (which goes by very fast) on the hour. If you can help, please send me an email letting me know which top three time slots you prefer (in order of preference)!
UPDATE #1: Looks like this will be a good one! So tell a friend, come on out, meet new people, and help support a good cause! And again, I encourage everyone to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE!
Okay, time to get together for our next happy hour!
Our happy hour will benefit Leukemia & Lymphoma Society... www.lls.org... a non-profit organization with the mission to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families... suggested $10 donation. Please note 80% of donations go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and 20% of donations will go to the 30s & 40s Going Out Group to cover Meetup fees and expenses.
DJ Saam will be spinning loungy groovy beats for us. Our happy hours typically bring out 150 - 200 folks... and I wouldn't be surprised with a similar turnout this time around.
If you haven't been there before, Modern features low couches, a deep sunken circular bar surrounded by ottomans, and top of the line sound and lighting systems! 21+
To help continue the friendly tone of this group... I'd like to again encourage each person to have a GOAL OF MEETING 3 NEW PEOPLE at this event. To help do this, for an icebreaker, we'll put your name in a jar as you walk in, and then give you someone else's name from the jar. Also, 30s & 40s Rockstars, please help make all the newcomers feel welcome to our group!

Metro and Parking
Closest Metro is Rosslyn (Orange / Blue lines), a 15 min walk over Key Bridge, or a 2 minute Circulator bus ride, I suggest metro / cabbing it (esp. during rush hour). I also recommend using wmata for travel plans. Don't forget to account for Metro and traffic delays. If you are driving, you will need to find street parking or a garage.
