Don't think we'll need the 3 pers. Tent. There is one couple going so far and they have a tent already. So I guess we can narrow down a date and exchange phone #'s. That way I can forward any info exchange. I have a water filter just in case and a two burner stove. I may just rent a sleeping bag and tent. The ones I have are not the best for this trip. I always have to bring my percolator for coffee. It's good for boiling water for oatmeal or whatever.

So hey Eric! I found lists of trails on the Shen park website. There is one listed as a one way 3 night trip of a total of 23 miles. Check it out-it is the Hawksbill-swift

Hey Eric, I have a couple of friends who would b up for backpacking. We r wondering if you would settle for something along the lines of hiking in setting up camp, then hiking from the camp one day leaving the site set up or several days of hiking a portion of each day. I understand that this all takes quite a bit of planning so I'll do what I can to investigate trails.

I would love to go out to Shen and WV. Lookin forward to trips will certainly keep me motivated to continue building up my stamina.
