CBPSN, we need your help to feed our community in the Washington Park area.
The Coppin Memorial A.M.E. Church and Coppin Community Center has been serving the the south side of Chicago for the last 95 years. It currently operates a food pantry in the Washington Park neighborhood for neighbors in need every Monday night. Come volunteer and help distribute food to families and seniors. Share some kindness with a neighbor and renew their hope.
The main volunteer event time is 5:45 pm to 8:15 pm. But help is also needed if you can come a little earlier with setting up food on the table. We can use volunteers as early as 4:30 pm in the evening shift.
There is also an opportunity to help in the morning with unloading and sorting food from the delivery truck. They have started a new food rescue program and receives about 4000 pounds of food from local grocery stores. Help is needed from 10:30 am to 2 pm. Please see the other Meetup post for more details.
