I'm a dual-language teacher in Vernon Hills, IL
I'm one of those people who just works so hard that I haven't broadened my social circle the way I'd like. I need to be more active, and I love mingling with fun, open-minded and intellectual African-Americans like myself!
I hope to. I was referred to this group by someone else, so I'm sure I can come out to at least a few meetups.
I'm just a kid at heart, rediscovering life and fun all over again now that I'm surrounded by young people most of my day. As much as I love kids, I definitely need more adult interaction!
I am really loving this group. I've been to four meetups that ranged from watching a documentary to winding at a Reggae club, and have enjoyed each one. James is a wonderful, warm-hearted host, and I love meeting all of these real, down-to-earth, colorful and fun folks. I feel so welcome and I'm able to "let down my hair" without feeling strange, lol. If you think you're the only intelligent cultured black person out there with just a touch of crazy, think again. There are a BUNCH of 'em here in this group waiting to meet YOU!:-)
