About 12 years ago it became clear that our planet had changed so rapidly that scientists had underestimated the dangers of climate change and that people that understood the science needed to become advocates for ending fossile fuel use. An understanding of & involvement with law, politics and organizing is also essential. Working with the Sierra Club has enabled me to make significant contributions in each of these areas in the fight to produce a new energy future, leaving carbon in and returning it to the earth. My biggest recent accomplishment has been the introducing the radon issue into the battle to end hydrofracking and preventing fracked gas from being delivered to NYC's kitchens.
I'm very conservative. I've spent much of the last 25 years conserving things like Manhattan's Hudson River waterfront and park & the New York City Watersupply in the hills of Westchester and Putnam County and the Catskill Mountains--from developers
