Coffee and Selby Jazz Fest Sept. 11

Coffee and jazz is a winning combination! Let's meet at Golden Thyme Coffee shop, 921 Selby Ave., in St. Paul, (Milton and Selby) and then check out the free music at this popular neighborhood festival.

The performance times are not listed yet, so for now let's get there when it starts. If it looks like all the good bands are playing later, I can change the meeting time. This way it might be less crowded and easier to find street parking.

"Since 2002, on the second Saturday in September, the intersection of Selby and Milton becomes a wondrous gathering that celebrates the positive path taken by neighborhood residents and business owners. People from all walks of life, cultures, backgrounds and professions interact together through music, food & activities in becoming an engaged community."

Great music. Thanks for getting me there, though, I missed everyone. The last two bands were great, got some dancing it at the end and the woodfire pizza quite good. I'll put it on next year's schedule!

Free parking is available at the JJ Hill Magnet School, on Selby between Oxford and Chatsworth, as well as plentiful street parking. Check out the map.

Bring a lawn chair tomorrow so we can sit out in front of the coffee shop, sip our java, and listen to the music. I am pretty sure there is one stage, right near the shop, although no one can tell me the music schedule. I will be in front of Golden Thyme on Milton and Selby (sidewalk or street depending on how crowded) wearing a red shirt and will have a Meetup sign. I emailed my cell to those who RSVP'd.
