Introduction to 3D Printing

People & Code and Draft Print 3D are once again working together on providing you with a glimpse of what the future may bring.

This meetup is for everyone interested in learning more about 3D printing, from the low range printers to what the higher end machines can offer.

We will have a variety of hobbyist / prosumer printers both on display and buzzing away for you to see. After a half hour talk on the topic, we open up the floor to any questions about this emerging technology.

Update: This event page hasn't been updated for a while but worry not, the event will still be happening next week. I'll send out more info in the coming days. We've since acquired Makerbot's newest offering, the Makerbot 2X for the space, so that'll be printing away as well!

Hi Adam, it's called Mix Shop.

    http://mixshop.com/

It's on a side street just north of Queen, east of Bathurst.

I remember during the presentation, there was mention of a 3D printing shop somewhere near Queen and Bathurst. Does anyone here remember the name and location of that shop?

Sure do. It's Mixshop (http://mixshop.com/). They are a supplier of filament and printer kits primarily. It's mostly something where you would place your order online and then pickup or have the items shipped. Not a storefront by any means.

My sincere apologies. When RSVP'd, I didn't have a chance to put it on my calendar. I really wanted to attend this. Now its bit late. My apologies :(

No worries. Depending on how things go, we might have other intro-type informational sessions.

Hello organizers: How serious are we about the attendee list size and waiting list? Can I drop by even if I'm on the waiting list or is it important to uphold the fixed number of slots?

Hello Khurram, much appreciate you asking rather than just coming by! We are in fact at FULL capacity and it would give registered attendees the best experience and opportunity to check out the 3D printings and chat with the group if we can hold the fixed numbers. We will look to add more sessions, so please stay posted. Thank you!
