Total 3D experience : Get Your Hands Dirty!

Dear Makers,

I've been overwhelmed by your active participation and your warming comments. From them I recognize that you all want to go further and deeper. Most of you even want to have their own piece printed. For this, I need you!

Here is how we'll make it together:

  • send a CAD file to london @ 3Dprintingmeetup.com before Feb. 20,
  • our team will review it and test it on 3D printers for you,
  • we'll select our 10 preferred for showcase, print and vote for award on the 28th.

Some rules apply as of size and complexity, we'll help you with that.

Agenda : A-Z for 3D printing

  • GYHD part.1 : live on stage CAD design of a typical product
  • GYHD part.2 : live on stage fine tuning for printing (tips and tricks unveiled)
  • GYHD part.3 : live on stage 3D printing

Vote by show of hands on your 10 selected 3D printed creations

And as usual:

  • guest stars talk (undisclosed yet)
  • 3D printers in action, 3D printed pieces
  • canapés, drinks and networking

Looking forward to see you all,

Sylvain Preumont

    Hi there

unfortunately I wasn't able to make it Yesterday :( I do have a question regarding the making of a 3D printed object. I would like to 3D print a belt buckle in a specific pantone color (yellow) is this possible anyone out there who can help me make it? suggestions regarding companies to approach are welcome but I don't have a "huge" budget.

Thanks in advance and see you at the next meetup!!

The people at faberdashery.co.uk are the best I know for mixing printable plastics with dyes. If you don't need a bespoke plastic they sell three shades of yellow:

    Need help in printing prototypes:

I want to use a silica based polymer (99% silica) to print my prototype. Is it possible?

    March 1

    • Glen

Thank you for your emails Shailesh.
You really need to do this. Take a drinking straw and breath through it for as long as you can.

Now you know what will happen to you and everyone around you if you start playing with lung destroying chemicals when you have no idea what you're doing.

"is there a problem with this material? Health hazard"
Yes, that's been the subtile theme running through my messages. If you want any further consultation work my rate is £350 a day.

what this tech is bringing us ,democracy?

    • Glen

The means of manufacture in the hands of the proletariat isn't a doctrine of democracy.

Had to cancel last minute damn Victoria line, was really looking forward to it. Meanwhile, would really appreciate if someone can help me out. I have a prototype that I want to print with a specific material which is 99% silica, is it possible?
    Many thanks,
    Shailesh
