In order to learn as much as possible about low cost printing, I have 4 different printers with 3 more on order. I've logged over 750 3D prints using both ABS and PLA. I've also taken a college course in the fundamentals of plastic engineering. I've presented several exhibits, demonstrations, and classes to children and adults. The field is changing and expanding so rapidly that keeping up is hard to do. I am interested in the problem of creating 3D Print Labs in schools and in using 3D Technology to improve existing curricula rather than treating 3D Tech as new and isolated subject.
I have 4 printers, 3 more on order and a few other related accessories. In decreasing age: a) Makerbot Thing-O-Matic from a kit, UP! Plus, PrntrBot Jr from a kit, Makergear M2, on order: Peachy Printer, M3D, and Ultimaker 2. Accessories: 3 Doodler, Doodle 3D, and a Leap Motion controller.
I am busy organizing demos and classes, but will be happy to present and show items at meetups. Learning from other makers is the best part of meetups.
