Reminder about our meetup tomorrow. Should be an awesome time:
Fred Kahl AKA Coney Island's Great Fredini will will lead a presentation and discussion about his latest project: Coney Island Scan-A-Rama.
Coney Island Scan-A-Rama is an art project to scan and produce 3D printed portraits of the masses of people who visit America’s playground: Coney Island. Visitors to the portrait studio will come in to get a 3D portrait taken and then a full body 3D figurine of them will be included in an installation recreating a fully populated model of Coney Island, New York’s Luna Park as it stood 100 years ago! We'll look at the scanning apparatus Fred has created and what his file cleanup for 3D printing looks like. We'll also look at some of the Luna park files he has created in SketchUp.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
