Hey Noel, thanks for interest in our nyc kinect events --- I agree we need to reach out to each other and thats why i'm working on putting together the Volumetric Society for 3D vision, software, and display --- with a model of regional chapters under one umbrella organization we can all more easily collaborate and communicate with each other. Here is my first test with the Kinect.
I hacked a Processing script to save out point cloud data then took it into Houdini to create particles from the point cloud data
