Hey everyone, The format of the 7th meetup will be similar to the previous ones -- there will be scheduled presentations followed by an open mic, followed by an informal discussion period. Microsoft has opened their San Francisco offices up to us again. If you're interested in giving a presentation on your hacks or ideas, please let me know and I'll put you on the list. Presentations should be no longer than 10 minutes. Kinect, other 3D vision, and even some 2D vision work are all welcome. Technical, user experience, and business applications presenters are all welcome.
- Matt Bell: Quick update on 3D scanning.
- Steven Scher: How the Kinect recognizes body parts with a random forest classifier.
- Elliot Solomon: Gesture-recognition systems beyond Kinect.
- Amir Hirsch: OpenNI Unity wrapper and Kinect portal.
The Microsoft office is easily reachable via the Powell BART station. Driving? Park your car at another BART station, avoid the traffic and parking hassle, and take the train in. Still want to drive? Ok, ok. Use the 5th and Mission garage a couple of blocks away. Detailed reaching-the-venue instructions:
After 6pm, people should ask the security guard to let them up to the 7th floor. The elevator locks people out after 6.
