40's/50's Richmond West End Singles Pages
We are a group of Singles age 40-50's, mostly from the West End of Richmond. Come -POST A CURRENT PHOTO AND BIO and join us for some fun. Do you spend your week working for a living and weekends running errands and house and yard work and wishing you had someone else to go out with on a Saturday night without any pressure? Join our group and find out how relaxed we are. We listen to live music, hike, eat out, go to movies or just meet for coffee. We want to stay a small local group with active members. By active members we mean - no internet lurkers and will remove inactive members in a resonable time (3 months average).
We are going to make some very important changes for our Meetup group as far as policy is concerned. We have two that have been in place for a good long time now.
One is the photo requirement. You are supposed to have your picture posted on the members page (profile) of yourself. Not pets, not things. Those that do not have a picture of themselves posted on the members pages by the beginning of the year will be removed from our group.
Second, inactivity. We have a policy that if you hit 3 months of being inactive on the groups website you will be removed for inactivity. We will continue to do so but are enhancing how we define inactivity.
Our Meetup group has always been about having members that are active and participating in group activities. We have never worried about being a group of large numbers just to say we have a large group. Roughly around 25% of our members participate in our Meetups at some level. We do not want folks to be part of the group just to continually lurk in and out of the Meetup site and never come to Meetups. A major change to stay a member in our Meetup: Any calendar year you do not attend at least 3 Meetups you will be removed. This will start being monitored in January. If you are not coming to that many you should be asking yourself why do you want to remain a part of the Meetup.
Lastly, No Shows . This is being disingenuous and discourteous to those of us who organize Meetups and those that get left out that might have attended because of a Meetup being at full capacity and then those that RSVP yes do not come. So again starting in January if you RSVP yes to events and have 3 no shows during the year you will be removed from the group. This also means if there is a cut off date to change RSVP's and you wait later than that it will be considered a no show.
Is there a fee?
Meetup charges your organizer a monthly fee for use of the website and it's tools. In 2009 a $1 fee per event attended will apply.We will also ask for donations of $5 or $10 when fees are due in July and December if we do not have the $72.00 Meet Up fee. (Hey - your organizer is on a budget too!) You will be responsible for your own expenses incurred at events (dinner, drinks, entry fees, etc.). Group rates will be applied where applicable! Any extra money above and beyond what Meetup charges will be put towards other expenses like buying food/mixers/plates/cups/etc. for various events.

When Meetup members sign up and accept the Meetup Terms of Service, you are agreeing to the Release found in section 5.2 (reprinted below).
