    Hi Gang,

Assuming the doors open at 6:00pm on Sunday, I'll be waiting in the lobby to greet you and then suggest you immediately go down to the Auditorium to grab seats so we can all sit (as much as feasibly possible) together. Last year, we placed coats on seats to save space for fellow Members and then took turns going upstairs to partake of the Food & Drink. As I recall, the seat grab takes place quickly, so I recommend everyone arrive promptly at 6:00!

I spoke to the Paley Center and was told they'd probably let us begin retrieving our tickets at Will Call a bit before 6:00pm, so I'd suggest you arrive a few minutes before 6:00pm to pick up your ticket and then head down to find seats. I will be there at 5:50pm.

Any extra tix the auditorium is sold out and there is only room in the satellite section. I'm new, so I have no idea the layout of this event.

Or will there be any members in the satelite sect?

    Hi Dave,
I don't think anyone bought a ticket to the Satellite room, but if anyone did, please speak up so you can coordinate w/Dave. The main auditorium is on the lower level below the main floor. I'm not exactly sure where the satellite room is located, but suffice it to say, it's in a space other than the main auditorium, where people are watching the Awards on TV and viewing the activities going on in the auditorium "remotely".

Right. So I'm thinking it is not the venue to meet the group. I'll try another time.

Okay, I can't argue with that assessment. Probably wouldn't give you a chance to meet anyone. So we'll see you next time!

If anyone with a ticket for the main auditorium does have to cancel at the last minute, I'll definitely buy the ticket from you. Outside chance, I know ... :)

Another wonderful Oscar evening! The Paley Center is a fabulous venue for this event, it was our second year and we had a great turn out. Thanks to all who attended, it was great to see some old friends. As for the awards there we're some surprises, And Billy Crystal was great! See you @ the Movies :)

thanks Nelson and Virgina for organizing, it was a good idea, fun! the theater was great for viewing the oscars, the editors were funny, and drinks and food were good! for next time, i could've done w/o waiting outside 45 minutes, and going up and down the stairs was a bit much, but no big deal. see u soon.

Loved attending last night. Enjoyed the company, being able to comment on the films and the wine was delicious.

Much fun! Was great to be out with new and old friends although I didn't get a chance to touch base with some of the old crew. Look forward to doing so at the next event. Nelson and Virginia....GREAT job!

As I watched the sound-bites this morning, I almost felt like I had been at the festivities in LA. Thanks to Virginia and Nelson for organizing. The fact that I stayed awake and engaged was quite a departure from my usual Oscar night routine!
  • Dave
The people in the group were wonderful. The guest speaker were a bore.

Nelson & Virginia did a stellar job, a large contingent arrived early and the organizers got out group in the theater first. After that came the food (blah) and the drink (3-glass limit), and I began to wonder where my $40 went. Luckily they ordered more food (much better), but the host David Carr was rewarding trivia-winners with bags of popcorn packaged at home (seriously?). Luckily, the combination of alcohol & Billy Crystal eventually won the night for me, but the Paley center needs to rethink the next price increase. And they need to bring the bar/food downstairs, too. Sorry for the griping, but they did raise the rate nearly 50% without improving anything ... yet I still had a good time (thank you Brooklyn Lager).

It was so much fun watching the Oscar's and mingling with new and old friends. Thanks for putting this evening together Nelson.

A fun night. But I must admit the venue was stingy with food. A manganato's type sub hardly enough for a full house. But none the less, was fun. Loved the ny times commentary. And for what it's worth I thought billy was a snoozer
