We are a group of enthusiastic outdoorsy people, who are over 40(ish) and interested in safely enjoying outdoor activities with like minded individuals.
Our events range from a couple of hours to multi-day backpacks. We are seeking new challenges and discoveries, both mentally and physically. All year around, there are some awesome opportunities to experience what nature has to offer.
We hike, scramble, backpack or snowshoe with a healthy splash of canoeing, kayaking, cycling or whatever fun our volunteer organizers dream up. You just can't beat swimming in a clear lake or soaking in natural hot springs. Typically, we drop by a local watering hole for socializing and some well earned refreshments after an event.
Over the last few years, we have conquered Mount Adams, Mount St. Helens, Cape Scott, Berg Lake (Mt Robson Provincial Park), Tetrahedron Park, Bowron Lakes, Mamquam Lake, Twin Lakes, Chelan Lakeshore Trail, Meager Creek Hotsprings, Cathedral Park, the Howe Sound Crest Trail and snowshoed the Zupjok-Llama-Alpaca traverse, Iago & Great Bear, Mt. Sproatt, Flatiron to Portia Peak, Mt. Harvey, plus many other fabulous locations. Check out some of the photos.
We have some fun plans brewing for 2015 too. The North Coast Trail, Mt Hood and the Sunshine Coast Trail to name a few; others you will just have to wait and see...
Our group is kept vibrant and alive by the time and effort our organizers give to arrange events; and by your active participation in those events. Together, we all make this group awesome!
Remember, our organizers and event hosts are simply outdoor enthusiasts just like everyone else attending the event. We are NOT trained outdoor specialists, medical attendants or professional guides, and should not be treated as such. We are simply using the meet-up website as a means to connect and arrange events with other voluntary participants like yourself.
Outdoor activities are inherently risky - your participation in any of our events is entirely AT YOUR OWN RISK.
It is your responsibility to do your own research and familiarize yourself with the inherent risks in an event/activity before deciding whether or not to participate, and to make prudent decisions about your actions or inactions before, during and after the event.
We encourage you carefully read all our group's pages in their entirety. By signing up for any of our events, you agree to the terms & conditions contained in these pages.
Let the adventures begin!
