This group is for Chicago ladies, married/relationships or single, in their 40s who are looking to expand their circle of city friends and enjoy Chicago city living at the same time. Vogue magazine writes:"You could say that your 40s are an age when you pivot--into an acknowledgment that you are no longer exactly young, into some sort of idea of the rest of your life" (August 2011, in an article written about Sarah Jessica Parker). This feels like an appropriate introduction for this group. More specifically, did you previously have a Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda in your life who are now in other cities across the country/world? Do you find yourself wanting to go to that fabulous new restaurant or patio bar (you know the one with the rave reviews)! Would you enjoy sipping a good glass of wine and having an engaging conversation after work? Are Sunday brunches, lakefront bike rides, or Millennium Park concerts your thing but your significant other just doesn't share your enthusiasm? If these questions are answered by yes, yes, yes, and YES, then join other smart, professional, outgoing 40something women who are eager to connect, make new friends, and take full advantage of Chicago city living. This group was started Summer 2011 and we've gained nearly 250 members in that short time.  We have a range of diverse events planned each month (we have held nearly 100 events in the last year making this one of the most active groups in the city). Part of the reason for the number of events is that anyone in our group who has an interesting event idea can take the lead in suggesting/planning/hosting the event.  If you would like to join our group, you must post a personal photo (no scenery shots of pix of your pets please).
