You have to start somewhere. This walk/jog is ideal for anyone who would prefer to walk a shorter distance or begin to train for a 5K.
This is an exercise walk/jog on concrete but could also move onto the beach depending on the group's preferences. Everyone will have varying abilities. I will be walking and jogging intervals at a slow pace. We have been using the Couch to 5K app. This event uses a straight forward path. You cannot get lost even if you chose a slower or faster pace.
We are meeting in Veteran's Park by the Atlantic Avenue Intercoastal Bridge in Delray. We will walk/jog anywhere between 3.25 miles and 4 miles from Veteran's Park to Linton Blvd and back. We will not begin jogging until we get to A1A.
Meet at 8:00AM and walk at 8:15AM.
You will need water to participate in this walk/jog.
Directions from I-95: Get off at exit 52 and head east on W Atlantic Avenue, passing thru the downtown area. Just before the drawbridge and intercoastal turn left into the Atlantic Plaza. The park is off to the right. Parking is free for 2 hours. Look for a silver Toyota Camry parked towards the back of the lot.
