Hey ladies...I'm new and was just looking through the meetups in this group. I just moved FROM Miami and I have to advise VERY strongly against visiting Miami Beach on Memorial Day weekend. There is a music convention that comes into town and wreaks havoc on the city every year. Unfortunately it attracts all the wrong kinds of people. Read the news, there is always a body count. Locals hibernate, businesses close for the weekend, there are police check points everywhere, and there are always shootings. Remember the face eater from last year? That was memorial day weekend in Miami Beach.

If you plan to stay away from the beaches and just see buildings in Miami proper, then it's fine. But I want you ladies to be safe and happy so please, don't hesitate to message me for more info.

  I can contest to the above... Asked all my friends about the events going on.. I was warned to stay away, everyone leaves town for a week... Shoot outs, stabbing, rapes you name it... Stay out of South Beach, Biscayne or Ft Lauderdale are ok

Hello Ladies! I went to AAA and spoke with a travel agent and this is what I found out:

Memorial Weekend is May 24th-27th
If you leave on a Red-Eye Thursday night then your total (hotel and air fare) would be $971.50
If you leave Friday morning, May 24th, the total would be $911.50 (hotel and air fare) and both of these are direct flights from LAX to Miami on Alaskan Airlines. The prices of both also include shuttles to and from the airport to the hotel.
And this based on two people per room at the Crest Hotel Suites. Checking IN: Friday, May 24th and Checking OUT: Monday, May 27th
Deposit is $468 per person due at the time of booking.
Final Payment is due in March.
