This meetup event has been cancelled because this showing won't be happening at the Hadley Cinemark. I'll still be at the mall at 6:45 pm if anyone still wants to meet for a meal and general movie discussion.

We'll see Her, directed by Spike Jones (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Where the Wild Things Are). Her received 3 Oscar nominations: Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Original Song.

Runtime: 119 min

Rating: R for Language, Brief Graphic Nudity, Sexual Content.

Genre: Comedy drama, Romance Director: Spike Jonze

Starring: Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Scarlett Johansson, Rooney Mara, Chris Pratt, Olivia Wilde, Matt Letscher, Kristen Wiig, Adam Spiegel, Portia Doubleday, Soko, Brian Cox

Synopsis: A sensitive and soulful man earns a living by writing personal letters for other people. Left heartbroken after his marriage ends, Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix) becomes fascinated with a new operating system which reportedly develops into an intuitive and unique entity in its own right. He starts the program and meets "Samantha" (Scarlett Johansson), whose bright voice reveals a sensitive, playful personality. Though "friends" initially, the relationship soon deepens into love.

I was just looking at the shows at Cinemark Hadley and I don't see HER there for Tuesday. Are we sure it's running tomorrow?

No, I just realized that the Hadley Cinemark isn't participating in this Oscar Week Series this year. Sorry for the mistake.

I used to work for Stephen Simon who started Spiritual Cinema Circle and was a producer / director for 'What Dreams May Come.' He says that 'Her' is the best movie of the year.
