Let's meet on the Hudson Line, third car from the front of the train, see train schedule below: http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm
You want the train that arrives at Grand Central at 2:27PM ... or meet us at Grand Central Station's big clock/info booth at 2:30PM.
We will then do the fantastic audio tour.....
www.grandcentralterminal.com/info/tours.cfm
that should take about an hour (cost of the tour is $6.00 each).
We will end with dinner at one of the finer restaurants, the infamous Oyster Bar, so please let us know if you will be dining with us there or not, so I can make reservations.
You are more than welcome to eat at some other restaurant of your own choosing.
We can explore some of the neat shops (also listed on the above URL menu) before or after dinner. This is worth your time, without a doubt! Come out and join us!
To all: If you can pass for 65, there's a senior fare - half off peak.
Does anyone know what line Nanuet is on and where to pick it up? Thanks...Debra
Nanuet is on the Pascack Valley line (njtransit.com). You have to change trains in Secaucus, then end up in Penn Station. It's a mile walk/cab/subway to Grand Central.
You could also drive to Tarrytown or Irvington and take the Hudson line directly to GCT.
I believe you need a special verified ticket, to qualify for reduced fare but then again, I could be wrong.
I have bought senior fare tickets for a while now - they never question -- hhhhmmmm I should be insulted!!!!!!!!!!!!
Denise, I will be going on the same train but I will be getting on probably with Marc at the Hughsonville train stop. Look for us.
hello Vicki and Amanda +1 I'm going to the new Hamburg station . If maybe you guy's would like to meet at my house it is on the way to the station and you could leave your cars at my house ,instead of having 3 cars at the station we could have just one .
Marc, sounds good. Do you mind posting your address so Vicki, and Denise could join in.
I will join you by the big clock at Grand Central and would love to stay for dinner. I'm really looking forward to this and to meeting everyone!
I got to the site where the restaurants were listed, but couldn't click to see the menus. Sounds like a wonderful day.
I will be attending and will meet you guys by the clock; will also attend dinner.
Not sure I want to get off train alone at beacon or new hamburg. Will atone else be getting off either station?
I think I saw a notice that we are now meeting on the NW corner of 42nd and Fifth Avenue, not by the big clock in Grand Central. Is this correct?
Here's an interesting preview: http://www.poughkeepsiejournal.com/article/20120221/NEWS0...![]()

We will be meeting at the big clock. There has been no change in plans. We've had several cancellations, I think we currently have 16 attending. I will ask that 23 audio units be charged for us, just to be safe. I will make reservations for the Oyster Bar before we start the audio tour.
It is likely that I am going to pass on the Oyster Bar and go for something less fishy; perhaps something like Italian. ;^)
I might be interested in something a little less fishy, too. Looks like we can decide for sure just before starting the audio tour.
The #s are decreasing so this opens up more restaurant options. We will further discuss this the day of.
Hope the numbers aren't decreasing TOO much ... am really look forward to this !
The Oyster Bar has a terrific menu, check it out online, and they have soup to nuts. I had enough of Italian food pizza etc. .. Eating at the Oyster Bar is a New York Experince it goes with the Grand Central Theme. Numbers don't mean a tHING, it's just a ########Oyster Rockerfella's was created at the Oyster Bar. This dish is a must have########
Is anybody catching the train from the MetroNorth Southeast station ?
Oyster Bar Menu Link, & yes they have Non-Seafood on the menu:

FYI: Grand Central also has a display of the OSCAR, you can take a photo holding the OSCAR
It's a great time to visit NYC because it is not the Tourist Season, and not too hot or cold to spend a day out in the city.
Dinner is definite, not sure which train I will take in (it will be the one from Poughkeepsie, is that the Hudson line?) Can you tell I don't do this too often??? :)
