Who is hosting this event? Is this part of the "Singles 50+ Issues" group, because I've seen the same posting appearing on a lot of other sites recently.....

Being the new organizer of 50+ Singles, I agree that trust and accountability are vital to our group. The unexpected posting of a conflicting event on our site clarifies that there are many issues we can talk about when the group meet for a potluck on Sunday Feb 12th, 4pm. I hope we can put this glitch behind us, and get on to developing relationships. I have taken steps Meetup advised to avoid unrestricted postings in the future.

I am totally confused, Marvin - is it Saturday or Sunday? Your message says Sunday but the headline says Saturday... and nothing personal, lovely ladies - but it looks like Marvin's having a hen party unless all the gal's guests are guys! Neither day is especially good for me which is why I haven't responded but I will try to drop by...

My potluck is Sunday. I don't know anything about Saturday event. About 15people registered for Sunday including 5 guys but no idea who will actually come. I'm hopeful that people who are interested in making beyond superficial connections will show up so that we can get to know one another. Hope to see you

Hi Marvin, Sorry to be so easily confused :-) but what are the details for Sunday since this page shows something entirely different and for Saturday! is this your address? Is it the NINE people here + somehow 5 more? Where are they? What time? Thanks & I'm sure the confusion is not making your job easier!

Person who posted Saturday event did so without my knowledge. I have no information about it or the 3 women, who said they would attend. IF you are interested in the Sunday event, go to "Singles 50+" site and look for Feb 12th. Best I can offer you. Good luck!

Concensus from numerous other sites seems to be this Saturday event is a scam/sham. So far I've found the same invitation posted on 5 separate singles sites, all with different organizers and no real info. Questions to the poster seem to go unanswered. I'd Proceed with caution.

I unfortunately went to an event Angela posted on another singles site on the same date as one of the site's legitimate events. Found a guy waiting at the door for an admission fee that had not been advertised.
The scam "meetup" took place in a dumpy, dirty apartment. This is strictly a money making operation, has nothing to do with legitimate singles activities.
