Wouldn't you like to -- ski the best mountains in the world? be with positive folks who love the active life? take advantage of group savings on trips? savor the better life you've earned - good hotels and excellent meals? make friends with people who enjoy what you enjoy? be active all year?
Come meet our members at our monthly meeting. See our Web site - www.50plusski.org We have 150 members from all over Long Island - and some from further away. 50 or more people get together at our meetings each month.
The 50+ Ski Club, founded in 1987, provides opportunities year round for adults to enjoy skiing as well as othe activities with their peers. Members are 50 years old and older and active in many sports and activities.
The club runs several week long trips each season, a number of shorter trips and many one-day outings to nearby ski areas. Local cross country skiing happens when we get a snow storm. We also go biking, hiking, kayaking, dining and fun excursions and anything else someone wants to organize.
A travel professional structures the major trips to include everything: airfare, lodging, meals and even gratuities. We like to explore different areas while taking advantage of good deals.
Within the membership, all levels of skiing are represented, from first time skiers to those just getting back on skis, and to all mountain advanced skiers. NO ONE SKIS ALONE- unless they chose to.
JOIN US FOR WARM WEATHER ACTIVITIES
In the off season, members participate in a number of sports with bicycling being a particular favorite. Other activities include hiking, kayaking and canoeing. Recreational events - such as a holiday dinner/dance, beach parties, dinner cruises, museum visits - are also on the calendar. Special trips - such as rafting the Grand Canyon and river trips in Europe - have been offered off season.
Our meetings take place at the Syosset-Woodbury Park on Jericho Turnpike. (2 traffic lights east of Route 135 - across from the Fox Hollow Inn)
