Have a card afternoon/evening together

Bring your pack of cards & plate of food/drinks and lets see what card games we can play. Poker, Black Jack (21), 500, Gin Rummy, Canasta, Whist, Fish, Snap, and many many others. We can teach each other or play the games we may find we all know. We may need a volunteer to host this event or suggestions regarding venue? I am OK to have this at my place in Parkdale but please lets chat about where we want to travel to as well before setting the location.
Thought I would add - so you can all clearly see - that there is a large post on the road with the number of the property - gold numbers on black. It also has a large gold sheeting on the bottom half. One side of the dirt driveway is line with pine trees.

I would love to learn Canasta too gail. Gotta look up how to play on the net! My place is fine for this as long as I haven't sold my home, thinking of doing this at the moment. I used to play Gin Rummy years ago and gerda you will have to remind me how I think!!

I just picked up a gift pack of cards with a book about how to play all sorts of card games. I will bring this along or if it is at my place it will be here! This will be lots of fun I think

Gail, it doesn't have canasta in it:( but I have looked the rules up on the internet and put it in the pages on this site. Look at the tabs on the top of this site, there is Home, Members etc and there is a Pages tab, click on this.

Would love to come but afraid my card playing skills don't amount to much. UNO, fish and snap are my limit unless anyone has old maid, LOL. Looking forward to catching up.

ANYONE WHO HAS PACKS OF CARDS PLEASE BRING THEM. I have 3 packs of new cards I can bring (new is always nicer), they sell very cheaply at any $2 shop too... I am bringing a rules book as well full of card games to get us going on what we want to play etc. Also look at the pages tab at the top of this page, the rules for canasta is posted in here for anyone who likes a challenge read up before the day.

That's fine with me, before 9.30am or after 5.30pm. I will email you the address cos I don't have your phone number since I broke my other phone I lost a few numbers. I have a new one, different sim card size though! Thanks Gerda for doing this... Really good book with the sets of cards too for everyone to refer to!
