Tom Mizner is hosting -- "It is Leap Day 2012 and a perfect day to have a Sadie Hawkins Dance. A Sadie Hawkin’s dance is an American folk event based upon Li'l Abner comic strip from November 1937. It started as an ALL day event when a young lady, who couldn’t get a date for a dance, chased a man around all day to catch him and ask him to the dance. According to the comic strip she chased him for years until he married.
Brett will be our DJ for the evening from 7 – 11 PM at the Solo Club. Feel free to dress the part of Li'l Abner if you desire. Who knows, there could be a best dressed contest. Gentlemen, you may need to wear you running shoes also. If you get caught and don’t dance, you could be asked to pay a fine. Something of 1937 prices (2 bits.) Gentlemen, don’t worry, no marriage proposals will be asked of you for the dance. Won’t you join us for event and find out who is willing to chase you. It’s all in good fun!
Door Fees: $3 for members and $5 for guest. A “Hillbilly Supper” will be provided.
PS, if Feb 29th is your birthday, show your valid ID at the door, you’ll get in free."
