We'll be walking Van Cortlandt and Tibbets Brook park, along the 'Old Putnam Trail' (once part of the Putnam Division of the New York Central Railroad) in the Bronx.
The route will be a combination of wooded/gravel trail, and paved path. Wear sturdy footwear. Ankle high boots or better are recommended. Sneakers are not recommended. The trail will likely be wet and muddy in parts.
It's likely we'll have to hit plain old public sidewalks in places, also. Anticipate aproximately 8 miles of walking, taking about 3 hours start to finish.
Please do bring cameras. Get more info about VC Park and the Putnam Trail at:
After the hike, consider joining us for food and drink at The Bronx Ale House, just 1 block from Van Cortlandt. You'll find top notch Craft Beer and excellent food at the Ale House. More info at http://www.bronxalehouse.com/
Start time for hike is: 11am.

If you'd prefer to skip the hike and just meet at the Alehouse, I'm guessing:
ETA at Bronx Ale House: 2 - 2:30pm
* Bronx Alehouse - 216 West 238th Street
* Van Cortlandt - W 240th St & Broadway - Take the 1-Train to 238th and walk 2 blocks north, or to 242nd street (the last stop) and walk 2 blocks south.
Please note in your RSVP if you're in for the Hike, the Ale House or Both, so I have a rough idea of how many people will be at the Ale House, and I can better coordinate with the bar. Thanks!
