Award-winning walking tour of Grand Central Terminal

The Grand Central Partnership offers a free, weekly, no-reservations-required, award-winning walking tour of the Grand Central neighborhood, that provides a survey of many of the architecturally and historically significant sights – among them the Chrysler Building, Grand Central Terminal, itself and Pershing Square – that fall within the boundaries of our business improvement district.

The Grand Tour meets at 12:30 pm in the sculpture court at 120 Park Avenue, located at the southwest corner of East 42nd Street and Park Avenue directly across from Grand Central Terminal.

I found this tour on the Grand Central Partnership website. Please note: This tour is not guided by the host so if you are late you will be left in the dust.

After the tour is over we can ramble on through the area aimlessly walking, talking, sitting, watching, snacking and so on.

I didn't enjoy this meetup. It has nothing to do with the group or the organizer. It was a hot and boring Friday. Instead of taking the group outside, the guide decided to give a boring lecture. I wasn't feeling well and asked the security guard directions to the rest room. The security guard was a bovine with a soul-sucking presence. So I decided to leave before I said something I will regret. At least it was free.

I didn't enjoy this meetup. It wasn't the organizer Beau or the metup group itself; I wanted to get out and walk and explore the area on this beautiful day but we stayed inside with the tour guide for 1 hour before we ever went out. I left and enjoyed the city solo. Again, not a critisism of the meetup group or organizer. Just the way I felt; I look forward to attending other events with this group; those I met seemed very nice as was Beau.

The tour was enjoyable, but ultimately a bit superficial. Perhaps in these post-911 days, tours can't peek behind the scenes, as I hoped we would...

I now have to be in an important biz meeting during the time of tour. I hope you do it again.

Hi, I was confirmed for the Grand Central Tour for 12:30. Today I received a notice of a different time, 4:30. I'm a little confused. I want to go at 12:30. Please respond.
