The 911 Memorial sits on 8 acres of the old WTC site surrounded by 8 more acres of new commercial development. The site is impressive on several levels and the Memorial is quite moving, After the visit we will go to a local bar for drink, food, and conversation. Which bar will be determined by the size of the group.
Some things to know;
1- There is no admission charge but you will be asked for a voluntary donation.
2- The Memorial is entirely outdoors - dress for the weather.
3- There are no restrooms on the Memorial- plan ahead.
4- The museum is not yet open. 5- The length of your visit is entirely up to you. Most visitors stay between 30 and 60 minutes. I will stay with the group to answer questions - I am a volunteer on the Memorial - for as long as anyone wants. We will assemble at the one block long pedestrian mall on Washington Street between Carlisle and Albany. This is one block from the Memorial entrance. There are places to sit and get coffee there.
