Exploratorium Trip

To join us for an early dinner, meet the group at the cafe entrance at 4:30.  If not coming to dinner, meet the group at the museum entrance at 6:15.   We will have a guided tour which will last about 45 minutes.  Our guide will stay longer to answer any questions.  Everyone is free to wander at will until the museum closes at 10:00.

Admission at night is $15 and it is strongly recommended that you buy your ticket online at http://www.exploratorium.edu/visit.  On the website you will find a list of several parking lots in the area.

Note:  the group size is limited so reserve early.

Many thanks to Audrey for arranging this tour.

This was a fabulous outing. Our guides were knowledgable and passionate about the museum. We were fascinated, surprised and interested all evening. The building affords excellent views of the Bay Bridge with its computer controlled light designs.

Arlene: Everyone who was going to the Exploratorium has canceled except you, me and one other. I am about to send an email to the tour guide to ask if a group of 3 is worth his time. You and I can travel together. Let's meet in the Safeway parking lot in Foster City at 3:00. Look for me at the entrance to the store.

Hi Marilyn, I sent you an email saying that I would be going on a Sierra Club art hike on Stanford's campus instead. But the email came back to me "yikes"! So I am sorry to miss this one since I have been to the old Exploratorium and would love to see and experience the new! Joe

When will you be releasing the names of those who wish to carpool? Do we then contact them individually?

I changed my RSVP to "no" because as a KQED member I had a free day there recently. Thanks and have fun.

Audrey put this outing together and I have no information about it beyond what I have published. She should be home in about a week and perhaps she can answer your question then.

Will this be the same as their "after Dark Programs" that usually occur for adults only the 1st Thursday of the month? If not, how is it different?
Just curious. I'm planning to go anyway...

We always try to arrange carpools when we are going any distance. When this event gets closer and we see who and how many are going, we will talk about carpools.
