My name is Erick. In Asia I was fortunate to be able to study first hand with some of the leading lights of Chinese tea. Chief among them was Master He of Taiwan, for whom I translated a book on Cha Dao (茶道) -- the Way of Tea. It is a mystical process whereby enlightened consciousness is sought through the drinking of tea.
Fine tea, in particular aged Pu Erh, is extremely effective in expanding consciousness. It is tremendously beneficial for the body as well -- more than any other variety -- but in this context we are approaching our tea as a meditation aid/vehicle. My goal for the group, is to bring something of this ancient mystical practice to the West, and to offer an opportunity to share in a tradition that stretches back thousands of years.The process of tea brewing, at its best, is highly transformative and highly beneficial to those who are able to wrap their heads around it.
