Purpose: To learn and implement Steve Blank's customer discovery and customer validation business model. The goal is to find a repeatable, scalable business model by the end of the 8 weeks. We will get out of the building during the week to speak with customers, partners, and competitors. We will follow his syllabus as taught at Stanford School of Engineering 2012.
Who: Entrepreneurs: Apply as groups of 2 - 4 or individuals. We are capping it at 40 people, or 10 teams.
Materials: "The Startup Owner's Manual" by Steve Blank, "Business Model Generation" by Alexander Osterwalder
Weekly Sessions: Teams will work throughout the week to get out of the building to talk to customers, partners, and competitors. We will meet once a week for each team to deliver a 10 minute presentation on what they've learned and accomplished.
Deliverables: 1. Teams will record customer discovery progress using a Wordpress blog to capture the narrative, contact information, learning and insight. 2. if you’re a physical product, you must show us a costed bill of materials and a prototype or proof demonstration. If you’re a web product you need to build it and have customers using it.
