We had another excellent meetup this week. We gave our networking pitch and received feedback. You get feedback from not only Kathleen, the meetup lead, but from the entire group as well in a "safe" environment. The feedback faciltates improvement of your networking pitch. We also discussed ways to get rid of "mind trash" or negative thoughts that are in your head, and the barriers we have had in why the mind trash is there in the first place. We discussed focusing on the positive, i.e., what pleasant surprise will I get out of this or that experience? The night of the last morning meeting, I took this approach to a networking event, and had an excellent experience and more than one pleasant surprise. The meetup helps you stay positive in your job search in addition to providing tools to do so. Kathleen, as usual, runs an efficient and productive meeting.
