NEW NIGHT...DATE HAS CHANGED!! AND we have a SPECIAL GUEST!
WED. Mar 8, 2013 - Same Time: 6:30-8:45pm (our usual day is 1st Tues. each mo., but Jeffrey had a conflict.)
LOCATION- same- Spring Creek BBQ on Forest Ridge and 183 (map on webpage)
Come meet BISD Trustee Candidate for Pl. 6, Jeffrey Ritter. (http://www.ritterforbisd.com/)
Also, he will discuss the issues within the district which he believes he has some good ideas and solutions that DO NOT INCLUDE TAXING those in BISD MORE! In fact, he says, the BOND will do very little to address the issues that the district faces!
QUICK SIDE NOTE: WE are in NEED of VOLUNTEERS to hand out info at the polls this week and next week during early voting - BISD voters have likely not heard both sides of this issue - YOU can be the one to turn the tide - please reply to this or call CINDY @[masked] for details.
To give you a taste of what you will hear Wednesday evening -
Here's just one of the Reasons Jeffery Ritter and other concerned citizens are NOT in favor of the $182 Million Bond!
Pro Bond claim
Consolidate four of the oldest and smallest elementary schools into two new schools, which would save approximately $15 million in operating costs over the next 10 years.
Replace facilities that are between 50 and 65 years old with modern facilities that require less money to operate and maintain.
Anti (Irresponsible) Bond believe
According to the District’s own cost analysis, refurbishing the four elementary schools would cost approximately $7.2 million dollars. The proposed construction of 2 mega schools would cost $33.6 million dollars. It is $26.4 million dollars less expensive to refurbish the existing 4 schools.
Why should we pay $26.4 million dollars now in order to only save $15 million dollars over the next 10 years?

WE ARE IN EARLY VOTING- but if you don't know the PRO's and CON's of the BISD Bond, you need to attend, and/or visit the websites above to educate yourself prior to casting a vote!
During Early Voting, voters may cast their ballot at any voting location within Tarrant County. For a complete list of Early Voting locations please visit www.tarrantcounty.com/evote/. Election Day is Saturday, May 11. Polls will be open from 7am – 7pm. Voters must cast their vote at their assigned voting precinct on Election Day.
Hope to see many of you there - and even if you dont live in BISD, come so you can share with others who you know that do live there!
