I firmly believe that rights are natural, universal, inalienable, and God-given. They are enshrined in the Constitution by the consent of the governed. And, they are protected by the right of a free people to individually keep, bear, and use arms.
America is less about one’s place of birth or residence than it is about the values one subscribes to and endeavors to live by. Americans value and strive to exhibit honesty, reverence, hope, thrift, humility, charity, sincerity, moderation, hard work, courage, personal responsibility, and gratitude. Courtesy, hard work, personal responsibility, delayed gratification, education, and respect for the institutions that have helped make this country great are behaviors that are out of vogue. Narcissism, self indulgence, and entitlement are ascendant. The American Dream [life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness] is becoming an anachronism. Progressives of all strips, secular humanists, moral relativists, multiculturalists, trade unionist, and educators are looking to Balkinizen and hyphenate America into waring tribes who are dependent on the government for their daily bread [social justice] and our collective salvation. I view the 9 - 12 project as the “Little Dutch Boy” holding back the flood of Progressivism. It is my hope that the Project will be a Pathfinder on the road to a Third Great American Awakening.

"From Scouting in my youth, to trekking in the Himalayas as a young adult, to prepping as husband and farther against blizzards in New Hampshire and hurricanes in North Carolina, I was “being prepared” long before it became respectable. "
Great group of people, most of whom have taken the "Red Pill" when the vast majority of civil society continues to take the "Blue Pill". For these Blue Piller "the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe".
