Constitutional Law Study Group

  • Needs a date

  • Needs a location

  • These words should ring true for all you prior military out there: “I, [name], do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic” The term "Domestic Enemy" as used on the military "Oath of Office" or "Oath of Enlistment" is not clearly defined in the laws specifically. However, I have been doing some research on this and some Constitutional scholars have stated that anyone in America opposed to or working against the U.S. Constitution is by definition a “domestic enemy” of the Constitution, presidents, senators, congressmen, judges, bureaucrats, military, and police included. The Constitutional scholars are basing their definition on the quote from the US Supreme court in Marbury vs. Madison, from 1803, where the Court stated that “All laws repugnant to the Constitution are null and void.” The term is left undefined supposedly to give prosecutors sufficient leeway to fit numerous acts (Subversion, Sabotage, Terrorism, Espionage, etc...) into the definition. But it also does give wiggle-room to our domestic enemies as well. It would be wise to start a Constitutional Law Study group for these types of issues. There have been far too many instances in our country where people get away with making Policies and committing crimes that go against the grain of our Constitution and these so-called “Politicians” get away with it, because they assume that we are not smart enough to come after them. This type of group would take a little planning on all of our parts and we will need to recruit a Lawyer with some Constitutional knowledge as well. We can kick this idea around first before we pick a date and a location. Let me know what you think. Joe
