Wednesday Night Critique

We are using a read-aloud format. If you wish to have your work critiqued, please bring a short piece or chapter (about 3-5 double-spaced pages) to read out loud to the group. It can be any genre, including non-fiction or poetry.

You don't have to read - you can show up to listen and critique or just listen. We don't have set time limits on critiques - all we ask is that you be mindful of how many readers are reading after you so that everyone gets a chance to read.

As for dividing the group and another venue, I dunno, I'd go for a more uninhibited setting rather than a coffee shop or church, where stories can dazzle the mind and shock the senses. Maybe a basement distillery, where teetotalers can quaff on spring water while others on Guinness. Many such things can be derived from such places, perhaps created. Just a thought.

I wholeheartedly agree. But such WILD musings have been relegated to FB (I was told). Meanwhile, between all of us creatives, we should be able to find one of the many great places just waiting for us, with ease.

I started a discussion in the meetup Discussion for those who aren't on Facebook. We're looking forward to suggestions there.

I am glad to hear there is a suggestion to splinter because we have so many people attending we don't have time to get to everyone. A great problem to have, by the way.

I trust this is not a new venue to replace Eliot's, just an additional venue?

Yes this would be an additional meeting time. It will probably be another day since finding a venue for Weds night has been so challenging. Possibly Sunday afternoons....
