June 15 Public Astronomy Program On Mt Diablo

Please join Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for the June 15th astronomy program. Lower Summit Parking Lot of Mt. Diablo State Park. The program starts at 8:00 (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier) at the lower summit parking lot. Although there is no fee for this program there is a $10 park entrance fee. This month’s program is – “Stars: Our family scrapbook” Take a look through the telescopes to discover our galaxy’s family of stars. See stars, nebula, galaxies, clusters, the moon and planets through member telescopes. Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, and water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one cover it in red plastic. Escorted exit several times during the evening through Northgate entrance.

    I have never been to Mt. Diablo and I am unfamiliar. I am coming from Fairfield, Is the lower summit parking lot after you come through the gate, and if so will we be able to leave after sunset?
