Starry Nights at RCDO

Starry Nights is hosted by the Santa Clara County Open Space Authority with help from members of the San Jose Astronomical Association.

You've got a telescope? Come on down and follow along with the objects we view, or find your own and have the pleasure of sharing views of objects you find to others.

No telescope? Come on down and look through our telescopes and learn about the planets and stars and deep sky objects you can see.

Questions? Whats that really bright "star" after sunset? (this time its Venus) We have members of the San Jose Astronomical Association available to answer your questions.

Spectacular deep sky objects of the late autumn and winter skies are visible Rancho Canada del Oro Open Space Preserve is close by.

Objects on Display: Deep Sky Objects such as The Orion Nebula, Hyades Cluster, Jupiter, open star clusters M35, M36, M37 and M38, etc...

As you drive up, please dim your lights (if you can) to your parking lights and park in the asphalt lot unless you have arranged with the astronomers ahead of time to help and have your own telescope.

Rain or lots of clouds cancels. (can't see anything). Dress very warm! See you sooooon.

Looks like the it will be warmer on Sat night. The forecast now is predicting low 40's which would be great.

I hope to see you all soon. It's insanely cold in the evenings...miss living in the Southwest. Can't wait to get out and see some stars (and not freeze in the process :-o).

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
