July 5th. Public Astronomy Program On Mt Diablo

Please join Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for the July 5th. astronomy program at Mt. Diablo State Park. The program starts at 7:30 pm (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier) at the lower summit parking lot. Although there is no fee for this program there is a $10 park entrance fee. This Saturday, explore our Sun and Moon: Arrive at 7:30 to safely view the Sun through telescopes. How can the Sun affect cell phones and create auroras ? Why does the Sun have spots? And Earth's lost rock: our Moon.

Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one cover it in red plastic. Escorted exit several times during the evening through Northgate entrance.
