The SJAA Quick STARt Program

Hello AANC Meetup members,

You have probably already heard of the SJAA mentoring program that was started late last year by Dave Ittner. Not too long ago, the program's name has changed to the Quick STARt (QS) Program, which is more descriptive of its aim: It is for SJAA members with little to no experience in the amateur astronomy hobby and is designed to provide basic instruction about the night sky and how to use one of the loaner scopes.

Think of it as THE required undergrad class: Amateur Astronomy 101!

Dave has published a good rundown of the program and the gear that he has been assembling that comprises the hardware portion of the program, complete with pictures. I encourage you to check it out, here:

As far as we know, there is no other organization in the country offering such a program. If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, contact details are at the bottom of the blog post.

Clear nights!
