Hey all!!! Its Michele here to tell you about our first ever Downtown Los Angeles Meetup Holiday Mixer EVER!!! This is going to be a big one. Bringing in the Holidays in a not so typical LA style by throwing a bashful bash but not shy gallery PARTY!!! But before I get into all of this I wanted to let you know that I’m going to be picking some newbie’s and oldies from our group and doing a Featured member of the month, week, day, or whatever ends up working out the best for us. (F.Y.I, If you’re interested in being a featured member please do send me an email telling me so). The point of this is to help all of us to get to know each other better. And to meet some of our group members that are not from Los Angeles and show them “How we do it”….haha… So it is my great pleasure to introduce our first ever Featured Member!!!!........ And for the month of November 2009 it’s going to be Craig Hahn from New City! He has been here in LA with his partner Mark Hilden for a few months now and they have already started rocking this city doors down, one of which is being our host to our first ever Holiday Party at their Gallery Studio called “Hilden Hahn Creatives”. Located right here in Downtown LA.

Ok, SO back to our PARTY!!! I’m so excited about this one you guys! I’ve been working my little tail off to offer you the best possible party I could think of. You know how we just had a meet up at “A Secret Warehouse Party” at “Out of Asia”? Well I wanted to do something like that but just for us using my West Coast take on how a Gallery Party should be. I even got this event sponsored for us. Yeah, that’s right, sponsored. So you know what that means?!! That means you don’t have to pay a dime. Not a penny to attend this event and enjoy all the goodies that are in store for you. All you have to do is show up and enjoy the festivities and get to know your fellow “Downtowney”. We will eat, drink, and be entertained for FREE, all because of the good blessings and efforts of our sponsors. Can I get a “Hell Yeah Michele and Craig”?!...hehe.

This Sponsor is my personal favorite place to eat, “Café Flourish”. They will be feeding us the most amazing Organic Plant based food. In the short time they have been open (June 2009), they have had the likes of Jason Mraz, Alicia Silverstone, The guy from the band Keane, A woman who is the author of a NY times best seller book called “How to be a Skinny Bitch” (I think that’s the name of her book), and Me (ha) frequent the café on a weekly basis. They are located in the Miracle Mile district of LA and have the yummiest healthiest food you can find in LA. For all you Newbie’s to LA, Miracle Mile is not that far from DT LA. From what I hear they are on their way to being the new “Real Food Daily”. I’m working with them on our menu for our event. So we will have a little something special that is just for us. They will also be giving us a 20% of coupon for your next visit to the cafe, FYI They don’t do coupons. I convinced him (Owner James) to do this for us for our goodie bags…Opps, did I give that away? …Yes we will have goodie bag at our event, 50 to be precise. The first 50 through the door will get them, and it will include a special DT LA Meetup group member gift in there for YOU from ME. About our Host and the Gallery that are kindly allowing us to use for our party. Mark and Craig are new to LA as I said before and they are fitting in just nicely I must say. The Gallery at Hilden Hahn exhibits world-class art by such notables as Hiroki Morinoue, Setsuko Watanabe, Miho Morinoue, Tim Davis, Timothy P. Ojile and Gabriella Zalapi. All of these artists will have their art displayed in the gallery the night of our party. Please take note of their great work and respectfully do not lean against or touch any of the pieces you see in the room (Thanks Loves). Co-director Craig Hahn said, "With people around the world slowing their pace of consumption, the world of art is reestablishing itself as an essential commodity. Art allows us to appreciate life more fully. It brings us together to engage in conversation and also to reflect on that which enlivens us." The next activity on our list at the glorious event is my performance. You will get to see me in all my musical glory. At 7:30 pm I will be performing a 30 minute acoustic set of original songs along side my guitar player Tim Weber. We’ve been called the “Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds of the female acoustic music scene”, by “Wired Out Magazine”. I’ve been playing with Tim for about 2 years now and we really do have a chemistry that makes it possible for me to get lost into. All of you performers out there know what that means. For those of you that have never heard my music you may listen at my links below. I really am excited to share this night with you and please do make a effort to come out and meet me and your fellow group members. See you all soon!!
