I am an idealist, who loves life, people, volunteering, spas, traveling, the arts, red wine/ tastings, cultures, languages, and deep, genuine, spiritual and considerate friends who like to engage in intellectually stimulating conversations....I feel it is important to teach and learn about different cultures as well...I love to travel, and have lived on two continents, and yes I have a bunch of passports...(:- I am a Canadian citizen, with a rich international background and ancestral tapestry that includes-Jamaica, India, Syria and the U.K (Scotland, Ireland, and England).
My circle of friends make up the United Nations(:- They are also single, married, interfaith, racially and inter-racially connected, gay, straight, with kids, without kids, my age, much younger, much older, preppies, fashionistas, goths...(you get the picture)..Anything goes...Who cares? It's all a 'state of mind'..We need more tolerance and cultural camaraderie.Together, we can start this dialogue and exchange....one person, one get together, one dinner party at a time....As such, I encourage EVERYONE from all racial and ethnic, religious etc., backgrounds to join...We can all learn from each other..Knowledge is power.
I love 'giving back'..I do not necessarily consider it 'charity' per say--Just my moral and social obligation....sounds selfish but it makes me feel great...If I can make a difference somewhere, somehow, however miniscule....That is an added bonus...I love to entertain, and I particularly enjoy hosting dinner parties. I am hoping that eventually we can make some great connections and arrange some great events together...If you are open to the idea of hosting an event at a private residence or establishment that would be great as well...(I have some ideas for some fund-raising events/wine and cheese parties, champagne and desserts, and has anyone been to the Sand Castle winery in Bucks County PA? ( http://www.sandcastlewinery.com/taste.html)--How about a private room for tastings? it's fun really...The Rats Restaurant and Grounds for Sculpture is great as well http://www.ratsrestaurant.org/, so is the http://www.alboradadance.org/id18.htm (Many events coming up so keep an eye out--(great Flamenco dancing..Ole!)...another is Makeda Ethiopian Restaurant at http://www.makedas.com/ and so much more..Indian, Brazilian, Cuban, Italian...NJ, NY, PA..Nothing is off limits really...so do share your ideas ok?
I have been very busy lately, and I finally had an epiphany that my life was just different in a way that I was no longer enjoying the 'essence of life...or my 'being' ...My life has become so 'gadget-controlled' with too much time away from friends and family and real passions (I am an Epidemiological Research & Disease Prevention Specialist) so I am always very involved with conducting new research, attending conferences, etc., and just not much time to even listen to some great Jazz...geez...Coltrane?...not all!!(:-Not a good sign! But now I am back, from out of space..You should see the look on my face...(Is this a song)? (:- Anyhow, I am reclaiming my life in very passionate meaningful ways, and I am looking forward to embarking on this personal and enhancing journey....
Having Said..ALL THAT..(:- If you can relate to anything that I have mentioned about the premise for this MEETUP, you have piqued my curiosity..So please sign up...I look forward to meeting up with you and to sharing great events...for a great cause..."Bridging Cultural Gaps" while making friends, helping the less fortunate, sharing food, music and wine, and teaching, learning and understanding each other! Merci Beaucoup!
