Good Morning Philly Fathers,
Due to the rain yesterday and this morning unfavorable playground conditions, the Philly Fathers Kickoff today will be moved to:
Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse
3500 Reservoir Rd in East Fairmount Park(just above Kelly Drive near 33rd and Oxford Streets. There is free parking on site)
* They recommend a $5 donation at the entrance
See link below for directions:
Smith opens at 10 am so we can plan on meeting at 10 am at Smith and hanging out there for a while. They have 3 floors in the playhouse and when it stops raining, we could venture outside to the HUGE playground.
We can still try to head to lunch at Urban Saloon at 23rd and Fairmount Ave around 12 noon if folks are interested. Or dads can bring their own lunch at Smith.
PLEASE confirm you got this email if you're planning on attending and let me know if you're IN or OUT.
(For the next event, I will send out a doodle poll soon to pick a June date - please respond to be included on the next email [masked])
My husband is starting an informal Dad's meet up group, so he asked me to post this here!
Hey Philly Dads,
As I've discussed with many of you, I've decided to start a group called Philly Fathers, a loose group of friends and fellow fathers of newborn to approx. 3 year olds. We will try to meet once a month-ish at a fun, kid-friendly location in the Philly area.
* Philly Fathers Rule
- Bring at least one of your kids with you and NOT the wife (or baby momma)
WHAT: Kickoff Event / Activity - Playground Crawl in the Fairmount area.
WHEN : Sunday, May 19 (10 am until about 1 - 2 pm (or whenever all the kids (or dads) get restless or need naps)
WHERE: Starting at Lemon Hill Playground (Poplar St. & Poplar Drive (also called Sedgely Dr when turning off Kelly Drive)
- Lots of parking on Poplar Drive in front of playground & accessible from Girard Ave, Kelly Drive or Poplar St.
Around 11:30 or so, we'll walk over to the playground at 26th & Pennsylvania Ave (across from the 2601 Pennsylvania Ave Condo Building & near art museum.
Dads can pack a lunch and eat at the 2nd playground.
For any kids or dads that are still going strong, we could try to hit up a 3rd playground in Fairmount or try to grab some food or drink at Urban Saloon or some Fairmount spot with room for a bunch of daddies and kids.
PLEASE let me know if you're IN or OUT for the Philly Fathers Kickoff Event on May 19
* Feel free to pass this along to other dads and please cc me on the email so I can add them to the email list
Future events / activities could include (open to suggestions):

- Hiking on the Wissahickon Trail or Forbidden Drive
