A Living Family Outing (May 20)

A Living Family Outing offers a chance for families to get together and explore a local space for outdoor learning and free play. This time we will head back to Ridley Creek State Park which got big thumbs up when we did a trial run last minute in April. Details closer to the time, but hopefully a beautiful pine forest floor with creek access and lots of woodsy picnic fun!

1023 Sycamore Mills Rd, Media, PA 19063

We meet up at Lot #9 (see map below), do a loop down to the water and back. (White-Blue trails--Less than a mile?) In general, it'd be a fun/full morning if we got there, frolicked about in nature, ate some lunch and maybe peeped at the horses on the way out.

To Bring:

Wet gear -- boots, pants

Change of clothes for sure, just in case

We have the travel Potette, too, for pottying on the go (and there are bathrooms near the picnic table, of course).

This was a great day of exploring, splashing, connecting with nature, good conversation, and yummy lunch to share! Looking forward to the next one!

We will be late, if we go. We went to Pennypack Preserve yesterday, which was fun, but tired us both out. We'll see when Z gets up...

I did like the spot/entrance/trail we chose last time but certainly open to trying a different one this time ... I've not tried any others though to make any recommendations ... Looking forward to exploring with everyone!

Last time we brought food and ended up eating at the picnic table together, which I liked. We did have a big snack session out in the woods by the river, though, that was fun. So lunch and snacks....and water. :)

Jessica, did you like that spot we chose last time? Looks like we have mostly older children again (although Diana's got baby in the belly to consider). There's another spot close to the one we went to that's a little more climb-y. Anyone have any fave entrances to the park?
