A New Paradigm of Education Meetup

Swift (map)

Selected By: Caroline

Come to this meetup ready to answer this question in full: If you had unlimited money and resources given to you to create a school, what kind of school would you create?  In other words, what is your dream school?

How about a future Meetup to discuss ways to raise the funds to make those dreams a reality? It seems be a huge stumbling block we can't get around...

Wish I could attend meetups, and would love to hear what you all envision...could someone post a summary? Thanks!

I spent several years studying education in US, Europe & Asia (including talking to administrators, teachers & students from hundreds of schools from all parts of the US). This led to the development of concepts for improving educational achievement for all students regardless of background, life situation or previous achievement levels. I would be happy to discuss our findings as well as suggestions from anyone regarding how to improve education on a broad scale.

Hey all, Caroline won't be able to make this one, but I'll be there at Swift at 5, and try to do as good of a job moderating. Feel better soon, Caroline!

If anyone gets there before me, snag the big table in the back right, if it's open. Otherwise we'll try to get the big, long one in the middle of the room, as it looks like it'll be a big group this time.

I can't stay past 7:15, but anyone that wants to stay later is welcome.

    See everyone soon!

Sean's introduction that the philosophy of this group is that the current education system is not working and an entirely new approach is required told me I was in the right group. The reaction of those present to the findings of my past studies and the conclusions we drew from those studies that a significant change in the results of education would really require a change in culture and approach to education has excited me. I am hoping this will lead not only to supporters, but actually partners to making a real difference in educational achievement.
