I teach 7th and 8th grade Reading & Writing Intervention and Special Ed Literacy at a middle school in Manhattan. I want to connect with people who are passionate about the transformation and expansion of progressive educational ideas in schools.
I am really happy I started this meetup. I am hoping we can have some school visitations and screenings of films about alternative education in the future.

Hi Caroline,
Thank you for your welcome. I wont be able to make it to todays meetup but hopefully I can make it to the next one. I did post something on the message board to introduce our work to the group so I thank you for the opportunity to do so. I definitely look forward to meeting and building with everyone in your group.
Hi Caroline,
I think teaching in an early ege about taking care of the environment it is so important. Explaining basic concepts like reciclying and how it does work. Here in NYC there is a big reciclying program, I think students should be in contact with all the differences programs the city has to care the environment, creating in that way a concieus about what each of us can do to help and that all of us should be part of the solution.
